The NJSCA Yahoo Group is an ongoing e-group for New Jersey School Counselor Association members. It is a listserv, email group or discussion group that permits members to exchange information, post announcements and generally stay on top of the latest in school counseling. All New Jersey school counselors are encouraged to join and participate. We will use this e-group to keep our members informed of current legislative developments and professional issues and to keep you updated on programs and meeting dates for our organization.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW)/Partnerships in Program Planning Project for Adolescent Health (PIPPAH) project has launched the "One Teen at a Time Campaign." This web-based public education campaign includes resources and tools to assist teens, parents and professionals in achieving healthy and positive outcomes. The goal of the campaign is to promote positive youth development by focusing on social and emotional skills, as well as offering information about diversity and tolerance. The campaign includes information and resources on adolescent health and practical tools for professionals, families and teens, as well as downloadable posters, bookmarks and stickers. National Organizations Release Legal Guide on Student Sexual Orientation:
A consortium of national organizations, under the leadership of the National School Boards Association (NSBA), has issued a resource document to help school leaders address legal issues surrounding students' sexual orientation and gender identity. Aimed at school policy makers and administrators, the guide, "Dealing with Legal Matters Surrounding Students' Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity," provides practical guidance on schools' legal rights and responsibilities with respect to students, school programs and curriculum.
